Diesel Running Day
Date:
Sunday 29th December 2024
Departing Stations:
Stanhope, Frosterley, Wolsingham, Bishop Auckland West
Looking for something special to do before the end of the year?!
Join us for our first dedicated diesel locomotive running day since 2019 featuring guest Class 50 locomotive 50008 'Thunderer' owned by Hanson & Hall and our own home fleet of Class 31 locomotives.
Travel 16 miles each way (32 mile round trip) on one of the UK's longest heritage railways through the beautiful Weardale countryside, with outstanding scenery and multiple crossings over the River Wear.
Our all day rover ticket allows you to travel on all the day's services; breaking your journey if you wish to explore the local area. Tickets for one return trip are also available.
Please note that these trains will not stop at Kingfisher Halt or Witton-le-Wear stations due to the short length of the platforms at these stations.
