Become a Member of the Weardale Railway Trust

The Weardale Railway Trust is a charitable organisation, run by volunteers, supporting educational activities, and the operation and preservation of the railway infrastructure and rolling stock on the Weardale Railway.

Day-to-day operations are carried out by our wonderful volunteers and your membership fee will help maintain our locomotives and the infrastructure over the 16 miles of track between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland.

You can help support the area by becoming a member and perhaps, if you feel able to, joining our group of volunteers too. More information about volunteering can be found on the Volunteering page.

Members benefit from:

  • 50% discounted travel on the heritage service trains *

  • A quarterly publication of the Trust's magazine 'Between the Lines'

As well as helping to preserve one of the world's greatest heritage railways!

* Discounted travel not available for special events.
