Crew Training on Pacer Commences

Over the past few weeks, the 'A' exam on the Trust owned Class 142 pacer '142078' has been completed at Wolsingham Depot and the set moved up to Stanhope for stabling and to allow for training of volunteers to commence.

Drivers and guards that are qualified on the first generation DMUs are now undergoing thorough training and assessments to ensure they are competent to operate this unit safely. The dispatch procedures in particular are more involved requiring the doors to be operated in a specific sequence with additional safety checks for passengers boarding or alighting.

There is still no date for the unit entering service, but please look out for updates on our website.
