Public Meetings on Restore Your Railway Bid

Updated: Dec 16, 2022

The Auckland Project, owners of the Weardale Railway, will be holding a series of public events to outline the details of their bid for funding to upgrade the rail infrastructure between Darlington and Weardale, as part of the Government’s £500 million Restoring Your Railway programme. The application will be submitted this summer.

This is a great opportunity for local communities to speak to those involved in the bid, ask questions and find out how upgrades to the line can benefit the communities along the line and regenerate the local economy.

The dates and locations of the first meetings are:

Tuesday 5th July - Stanhope Methodist Chapel, DL13 2UP (6-8pm) Wednesday 13th July - Frosterley Village Hall, DL13 2QW (6-8pm) Thursday 28th July - St Anne’s Centre, Wolsingham, DL13 3AT (6-8pm) For more information and to register for the event, please visit The Auckland Project's website:
