Update on Bishop Auckland Connecting Path

Updated: Jun 30, 2022

There has been much progress on the new connecting path between the mainline station at Bishop Auckland and the Weardale Railway platform over the past month by contractors CML on behalf of Network Rail. New fencing has been erected along the length of the path and the ramps are in an advanced state of construction. Further works will include the installation of additional fencing, kerbs and handrails on the ramps. Completion of the new path is expected during July and will be ready for use when services are re-established from Weardale to Bishop Auckland.

The first two photos were taken by Tony Slack on the 20th June and the last two by Josh Armstrong on the 29th June.
